Rough Round from the Reds

The last day of January and it is a pleasant 9 degrees centigrade … on January 31st, 2021! Of course we are going to play a round of disc golf. My opening hole started with a forehand flick around a tree to sink an Eagle putt. I am in for a great game! Well, by hole 3 I knew that was not a true statement. My drives were solid to awesome, my approaches were at best medium, and aside from 3 holes my putting was very disappointing. Wind was not really a factor but my focus certainly was. For instance, on hole 16 I had the best drive ever, and missed a 3.5 meter Eagle […]

Whoops, Almost a tie …

Friday afternoon in the middle of January and playing yet another round in 2021. Fantastic! Solid round from the Reds and added my Discraft Hades. Jay and I were tied at -7 on hole 16. I fluff and Eagle opportunity and Jay did not. Things change again on hole 17 with Jay hitting a tree and taking a rare Bogey and I did a routine par. Tied back up at -8 going into the final hole. The rule is you must win the game to take Kitty so a tie leaves the lovely trophy in my hands. In a moment of not really thinking I take out the brand new Hades. I fumble the throw […]

… 24 hours later …

What a difference 24 hours make. Calm cool overcast day. My putting was near perfect. I surprised myself on Hole 15 with a miss by 1cm. My drive on 15th was low and super fast with a tail wind past the basket and Hyzer out behind the grove of trees. I managed a decent recovery shot to put me within 5 meters of the basket. With my putting being solid I thought for sure I would have a par save. Nope. Putt was fully committed and perfectly on target for the center, however, it was about 1cm too low and hit the basket and dropped straight down. Bogey. Second time I had a 3 stroke […]

Whites in the Winter?

Due to the COVID pandemic there is no Squash season and therefore I have plenty of time for Disc Golf! We have had an incredible mild winter here in Lethbridge, AB and this is my 5th round of disc golf in January! We decided to play from the Whites and the park is busy! 5 people playing from the Whites means it was a slow game. I was also a touch hung over. Just not feeling the groove and my gawd awful score is proof! Murray had a fantastic day but Jay kept pace with him. John gets to keep Kitty! Murray (+1), Jay (+1), Wayne (+10), Sean (+10), John (+11)

Not for Long

It did not take me long to lose Kitty. How about 24 hours … We played again today to cooler and darker conditions and I fell apart on hole 6 with a bogey. I never really recovered after that and managed to also bogey 17. The good news is John took Kitty! John (-11), Jay (-10), Sean (-7), Murray (-4)
