A perfect Fall day for a round in Lethbridge

October 9th and it is 20 degrees celsius outside and no wind! Jay, Murray, Gim and I played at the University. Just because the weather was nice did not mean my score was going to be nice. I had not played in over a month and it showed on a couple of holes. I finished with 6 strong holes and a +5 overall. Aperture Park is a fantastic 18 hole course located on the University of Lethbridge campus. The signature hole is Hole 16 where you are throwing through a gap and over the pond. I was fortunate to throw dead center of the gap and have decent run on the fairway. Hole 8 and […]

Currie Reservoir

Played a round at the Temporary Course at the Currie Reservoir and did NOT like it. The terrain was fun, the weather was decent the company was fantastic! My main complaint of the course is the philosophy. If I understand it correctly it was designed to be adaptable to play different holes and layout for tournaments verses regular play. The course has 21 holes and many of the fairways are ridiculously tight. First Round of DRM Summer League put on by good buddy Pat Hergott and company.   I have decided I would like to support this league so I guess my Monday’s are going to be busy for the summer! First round and first impressions.   It is windy on the ridge.   Nice course with a bit of everything.  I do think there is a critical mistake.  A couple of basket placements are such that you are throwing RIGHT at the next Tee.   This can and will be problematic during tournament play.    Shot a 71 and can definitely shoot better.

Long Weekend in Libby

Friday June 29, 2018 through Monday July 2nd we played 6 rounds at the Kooky Noosa at the Libby Dam in Montana, USA.   What a blast!  I managed to have the best round of the weekend with 54 and the worst round of the weekend with a 69.   John, Murray and myself for the Friday and Jay joined us for the Saturday and Sunday rounds.   Weather was just about right, not too warm nor did it rain (much – just Sunday early morning) Libby Dam is a great place to hang out and play disc golf.  Too bad it is in crazy USA.
